Managing an Overloaded Schedule

After a conversation with a friend helped him recognize that he was not functioning well with an overloaded schedule and minimal sleep, Tim realized he needed to change his approach. Having spent most of his first year and part of his sophomore year doing too much and feeling like he was just going through the motions, he decided to cut the extracurricular activities that did not bring him joy. By prioritizing sleep and the activities he most enjoyed, Tim found more energy and value in his MIT experience.

    Managing Work Overload

    I had been kind of drifting in and out of sleep in my bed with a laptop and books and the light on and I hadn’t actually been going to bed or waking up. So, I didn’t really know when I was sleeping, or how many hours of sleep I was getting, or when I was waking up.
