PAIGE: Sometimes it can be very easy to internalize some conflict that you’re experiencing, whether that be feelings of imposter syndrome or academic struggles and how that affects you and what you’re feeling as a person. And one thing that has really helped me with that internalization has been simply writing down what I’m experiencing. Writing down what is it that I’m feeling and trying to put that down on paper helps give some sense of truth to it, some sense of, this isn’t just in my mind sort of feeling.
But also by writing it down, it can help give some distance between what you’re feeling and the reason you’re feeling that way. It’s not just ranting on and on about your feelings, but also what’s causing you to feel this way. Or even if the answer to this question is you don’t know what’s causing this, writing it down can help give you some of that perspective.
