I think that’s the class that made me stop comparing the way I interact in classes to the way other people do. That class is ostensibly 12 hours a week. I think the average time people spend on it is 13 hours. I spent upwards of 20 to 25 hours a week on that class just because I loved it, struggled with it, really wanted to understand that material.

And I think before that, I would have felt bad that I was spending more time than other people, that I needed more time to understand the same material. But you know what? It was something I loved and wanted to learn, so I was going to spend the extra time. And that’s OK. That’s not something to be ashamed of. It’s just something I did. And it served me well.
