Delia: Not Comparing Yourself to Others

DELIA: So when my coach told me to stop, what I realized what I was doing was looking– picking out the best parts of other people, and not seeing any of the good parts of myself. And this is something that I did all the time, comparing my weaknesses to other people’s strengths.

And I realized that maybe instead of trying to force myself to fit in other molds, I should just fit in the one that feels most comfortable to me. So here I am now. I’m still working on comparing my weaknesses to other’s strengths, and trying really hard not to do that.

It’s a work in progress. But I’ve learned a lot throughout my journey at MIT. And I’m definitely a lot more comfortable with the person I am, not the person I want to be.
